Haifa University coming to a school near you

8 September 2009 One Comment

Thinking of studying abroad in Israel? Haifa University is making the rounds at American schools over the coming weeks and may be stopping by a school year you. Click here to view their schedule. Having lived in Haifa, I can definitely say that it is an incredible place to spend your time. With easy access to Tel Aviv, Tibirias, the Golan, and Jerusalem, Haifa provides a true Israel experience, away from the balagon that we call Jerusalem. A train to Tel Aviv takes only 45 minutes while a bus to Jerusalem takes slightly longer. Haifa is a very mixed city, with a vary large Muslim and Christian Arab population, Druze, Bahai, and more. Haifa has the largest mall in the Middle Easy (Grand Kenyon), and much more. Look for our “How to live in Haifa” guide coming soon. In the mean time, kick back and enjoy the site!

Beatiful City, beaches, authentic druse village within half an hour from Haifa; pleasant walkways along few of the beaches with many restaurants to enjoy on the beach. I enjoyed watching folk dancing on the beach, hundreds of people participate. The old town of Acco is near by, old fortress with interesting restaurants. A few years ago there was a spring theather festival inside the fortress, awsome. I don’t know if they still have it. Haifa is famous for the beautiful vews including from the University. The “German” village has many interesting restaurants and the incredible vew to the “Bahai Gardens”. These are a few things that came to my mind… Just thinking of it makes me want to go back. For spectacular sunsets I went to “Dado” beach. In May there was a beautiful sunset just about every night. I don’t know about other time of the year.
