Jerusalem Artfest begins tomorrow

5 September 2009 No Comment

Jerusalem’s largest Artfest begins on September 5th, and runs for 2 weeks after that. With over 20 galleries, 27 exhibits, and well over 200 artists, the art festival will be one of Jerusalem’s largest, and most exciting events of the year. Exhibits will be displayed daily between 5am (I know you all want to get up that early) and 22:00 (10 pm – much better). The focus will be contemporary Israeli art. While it doesn’t seem all that exciting and exhilarating, we would definitely suggest checking out  in the next few days to get a little taste of the Israeli culture that you will be seeing much more of when you live near Tel Aviv.

According to YNet, you will be able to check out this art at the following galleries:

Jerusalem Print Workshop, Musrara’s social gallery, Agripas 12, Co-operative Gallery, Ticho House, Daana Gallery, Artspace Gallery, The Zik Group Studio in Beit Nekufa, Jerusalem drawing and sketching workshop gallery in Talpiyot and The Art House in Mevaseret Zion.

If you will already be in Talpiyot, we suggest sticking your head in one of the art gallaries in the area to check it out. Report back and let us know what you think!
